A Natural Deodorant You’ll LOVE (plus other benefits)

I can be a bit of a sweaty person. Sometimes it only hits when I’m doing my workouts, sometimes I’m wearing a jacket that’s too warm, I’m in a hurry and I overheat. It sucks, I wish I was one of those girls who just got a glow, but you’ve gotta play the cards you’re dealt.

I’ve been looking for a deodorant alternative for roughly 6 months now. Why? I started to notice how traditional deodorant irritated the shit out my skin! Not to mention putting aluminium (a common ingredient in most deodorants) directly on your lymph nodes can’t be good in the long term. I tried that rock salt deodorant, you know, the one you have to get a bit wet and then apply to your underarms. That did absolutely NOTHING so I gave up for a bit and then resumed my search. For a while I found using frankencense essential oil combined with geranium (to make it smell better) worked, but only lasted for a few hours.

So. Annoying.

One day I noticed an ingrown hair in my armpit and put a dab of tea tree oil on it. Tea tree oil is something I use regularly for pimples and ingrown hairs. On my other underarm I put my normal frankencense & geranium essential oil mixture. By the end of the day I could noticeably tell a difference in between the two and was blown away with how well the tea tree oil this worked. I did a bit of googling and it turns out tea tree oil is one of the best natural deodorants out there! How did I not know about this?

Oh, and you can get a bottle for like $20 that’ll last you 6 months. Check it out.

Tea tree oil is something I use all the time to zap zits and ingrown hairs (like I said above) as well as help with around the house cleaning (eliminating odours in shoes or work out bags, disinfecting, etc) and it can help make your hair grow faster by adding a few drops to your shampoo/conditioner. Ask my hairstylist, I go in once every 6 weeks and usually have 2-3 inches of growth every time. This stuff is pure gold.

So before buying another deodorant that has chemicals or doesn’t last nearly as long as it should just pick up a bottle of this stuff.

For deodorant purposes, I use 3 drops per underarm. For zits & ingrown hairs I’ll put a couple drops on a q tip and apply directly to the area. Keep the q tip pressed on the area for 10 seconds when you do this, it will help it absorb. Do this before makeup application. For cleaning around the house, I use one or two drops in shoes & work out bags to eliminate odours and will add a drop or two to different cleaning solutions. For shampoo and conditioner, I add one drop per 100 mL.

Do you guys have any killer tips that people should know about? Comment away!
